How Should Christians Deal With Stress?

This summer, our high school students went through a series called "Burning Questions".  At the end of last semester, students were given the opportunity to submit questions they were curious about and wanted answers for.  The questions that were not able to be covered on Sunday evenings were answered on the Student Ministry Blog. Last week, one of the interns, Sarah Jacobs, answered the last question of the summer...

How should a Christian deal with stress?

Oh the irony! As I sit here trying (for the fourth time) to write this blog about stress, I find myself, well… STRESSED! In fact, today I have already been stressed about preparing for a mission trip, choosing a smoothie flavor, and deciding if I want to see a movie tonight! And although some of these issues may be small and meaningless, they have caused real feelings of stress in my life (pathetic, I know- I am obviously not very good at making decisions)! So, as you can see, I am probably not the most qualified person to write on this subject. Now, if you want worldly help, there are plenty of self-help books and practical tips for managing stress that can be quite helpful- take deep breaths, laugh, prioritize, make lists- just to name a few. But how should we, as Christians, approach the topic of stress? How does knowing Jesus change us, and how do we act differently?
