Hurricane Irene | The Fastzkies

Mike, Shannan, and Lydia Fastkie are members of Grace who have been living and serving in Eleuthera, Bahamas for the past several years through the Caribbean Ministries Association (their other daughter in the photo, Bess, is a student at Anderson University).  The Fastzkies coordinate training and projects through the Eleuthera Bible Training Center by hosting teams from the states and guiding them in construction projects as well as activities for the children and youth on the island.

Please be in prayer for them as Hurricane Irene approaches the Bahamas today or tomorrow...

Hurricane Irene is headed our way and could be category 4 by the time it reaches us. We are in good shape as we have boarded up, fueled up our generators, and purchased supplies. It looks like we could get some pretty bad flooding, as the waves are expected to be 28 ft during the hurricane is rather large and may last quite a long time (maybe 12 hours or more). As said, we are in good shape, but will probably be unable to communicate, at all, for at least a week after the storm, since our internet and cell phones will be out of commission. Please pray for us, but even more for those who do not have adequate shelter. We are working to assist these folks and will help as many as possible before the storm. We will be praying, as well, and see that the US coast off the Carolinas could get hit even harder.

Much love and prayers,
Mike, Shannan and Lydia
