Books Worth Reading Wednesday | You Can Change

There are a lot of books in print that present a "method" on how you can change behavior. You Can Change by Tim Chester is not one of those books. Instead this is a book that can help you experience real life change that is neither pietistic or moralistic. You Can Change seeks to guide the reader to real change by focusing on the sinful motives of our hearts and the power to change those motives that is found only in the gospel.

Chester points out that real life change comes, not by focusing primarily on the behavior, but on the heart. He then directs the reader to experience heart change by looking to the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is not merely a book about changing behavior but a book on discipleship.

This book offers hope by helping you understand yourself and the way you can change in a way that offers great hope that is centered in the gospel. Each chapter of  the book begins by asking some key questions about you and your heart and then Chester addresses what you found. Each chapter builds upon the previous chapter's theological framework that is gospel centered. The book is theologically rich and practical.

To sum it all up, this book offers real hope for change in a very practical and theologically sound way.
